INFINITUM Squash Opening Evening with 3X World Champ, Nick Matthew

Our opening exhibition with 3X World Champ, Nick Matthew was a great way to kick off the INFINITUM program.

Over the course of the afternoon and evening, around 100 visitors cycled in and out of our new facility for junior clinics with Nick Matthew and our newly arrived Director of Squash, former world #14 and current World O45 Squash Masters Champion, Nick Taylor.

For the exhibition match, a few days away from the U.S. Squash Open, Nick Matthew took no prisoners against Nick Taylor - both players displaying their remarkable athleticism to a captivated crowd that settled in with a fresh pilsner compliments of INFINITUM partner, craft brewery, Jack's Abby

After the exhibition, the evening culminated with an engaged Q&A session for the Nicks with questions ranging from correct grip and stroke specifics to topics of diet, mental toughness, and long-term player development.

Despite the home loss in the Battle of the Nicks, the next morning, Nick Taylor got his revenge, leading a pressure session for Nick Matthew, sharpening him up for the U.S. Open. Later on, Nick Matthew and his U.S. Manager, Steve Hall, hit the road for Philadelphia to get settled in before the tournament.

Improving on his unfortunate first-round exit at the season-opener, Oracle Netsuite Squash Open in San Francisco, Nick Matthew was in fine form for this year's U.S. Open, making it to the semi-finals before succumbing to the in-form Egyptian, Mohamed El Shorbagy - an impressive feat for the 37-year-old, who despite being in his last year as a professional player, continues to remain at the top of the game.

We look forward to following Nick Matthew in his last year on the pro tour and in welcoming him back to INFINITUM Squash soon.

INFINITUM Squash is now up and running with a host of clinic, lesson, and event offerings for juniors and adults of all ability levels.
